Tres Thomas is a 2018 OF/C, RHP with a 5-8 135 lb. frame from Arlington, TX who attends Mansfield Timberview HS. Has a young, athletic build with room to continue to put on additional muscle. Posted a 6.80 second sixty yard dash. From the outfield, worked extremely well through the baseball fielding the ball out front with clean transfers and good actions. Made online throws with good arm strength and quick arm speed. From the left side of the plate, starts with a coil, high hand set, and leg lift trigger. Showed quick hands and barrel control throughout swing. From the right side, starts with a wide base, high back elbow, and leg lift trigger. Gets good extension through the baseball and carries of the bat. On the mound, throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with lots of arm speed and looseness. Has drop and drive mechanics and stays online and directional to the plate. Curveball shows 11/5 shape, good break and tight spin. Good athlete and should continue to get even better. Good student. Named to 2016 South Underclass Top Prospect List.
