Sean Leary is a 2007 C/3B/1B with a 6'0'', 185 lb. frame from Trumbull CT, who attends The Kent School. Leary has a medium sized frame with a lean strong build. Defensively, Leary has nice hands and is a good receiver. He moves well behind the plate and has a good idea of how to block pitches. He sets up well and has solid transfers on his throws to 2B. At the plate, Leary starts with a slightly open stance with a high hand set. He has flexed knees and a wide base. Leary takes his hands to the baseball well and has a compact stroke. He swings on a level plane and is a line drive hitter. Leary uses a reverse stride Jeff Bagwell style and maintains good balance through his swing. He gets extension in his swing and has present gap to gap power. He will hit for more power as he learns to swing with more leverage. Leary is a good student.
