Stevenson is a 5-6, 150 lb junior right handed pitcher from Texas with some present strength for his size, especially in his lower half. His pitching mechanics are excellent, with very good balance and direction to the plate and an ability to repeat his delivery. Stevenson topped out at 80 mph on his fastball and pitched mostly at 77-78 mph with some tailing action. He threw two types of breaking balls. His hard 68-70 mph curveball had good spin and a sharp, late break and was his best overall pitch. He also threw a slower and bigger 61-64 mph curveball that was more like a change up for him. Stevenson threw strikes with all his pitches and pitched with a purpose and pretty much cruised through his four innings of work. He's getting all he can out of his 5-6 body and his hard curveball is a nice pitch that most pitcher's with more natural ability would envy.
