Luke Rodriguez is a 2023 RHP/3B with a 6-4 195 lb. frame from Shafter, CA who attends Shafter. Nice pitcher's build with plenty of room to fill out and get stronger. Long and loose off line arm action in back, lands open with his front side, still developing release point consistency in his mechanics, especially on his fastball. Fastball worked in the low 90's and topped out at 94 mph, huge fastball spin rates with lots of running life, lots of fastball swing/miss. Throws both a curveball and slider, curveball has big deep 12/6 shape, slider is a big sweeper with the same type of depth. Throws a knuckleball for a change up and it is effective. Outstanding ability to spin the ball stands out, key to development will be developing fastball command and consistency. All the tools are there. Excellent student.
