Dax Speakman is a 2017 RHP/3B with a 5-11 175 lb. frame from Santa Monica, CA who attends Santa Monica. Medium athletic build with good present strength as well as good remaining physical projection, Primary pitcher, small rocker step into delivery, short arm action up to high 3/4 slot, gets downhill some with fastball which worked in the 75-77 range, topping at 78 MPH. Gets over front side well with good extension. CB shows 11/5 shape, will sweep some but mostly good downer action with tight spin; changeup has good fade and deception with diving action. Hits from wrapped start with slightly closes stance, quick inside path to the ball with opposite field contact. Has actions defensively in the infield, fields cleanly with 2 hands, shows off solid arm strength across the diamond with throws topping at 77 MPH. Very good student.
