Lucas Casey is a 2023 3B/RHP, OF with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Murrieta, CA who attends Murrieta Mesa. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a lean, projectable build with room to fill throughout moving forward. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, gets low behind the ball, fields it out front with two hands, short steps moving towards the ball, high lead arm with a full arm action and higher release on throws across, arm strength will continue to progress. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a higher hand set at start, hands start out front and loads them back at start of motion in the box. Showed well staying on time with hand load, generates bat speed through the zone and tools project with added strength. Long path through the zone, utilizes hands well and drive through the ball, nice plane through the zone, worked to both gaps. Excellent student.
