Chris Shepherd is a 2018 C/3B with a 5-11 205 lb. frame from Durham, NC who attends C E Jordan. Medium frame with present strength. Ran a 7.02 sixty-yard dash. Primary catcher with a low, slightly side set stance while receiving the baseball. Gains ground while working out of crouched with an extended front side stride. Clean exchanged and released from a high energy three-quarters arm slot. Throws produced downhill carry to the bag topping at 71 miles per hour, best workout pop time of 1.97. Right handed hitter with an upright, slightly open stance and high back elbow set. Shifts into contact well with linear lower half actions. Inside hand path to contact and created and uphill barrel plane through extension. Looked to created separation and lift the baseball to the middle of the field. Ball jumped off the barrel well when squared due to present strength and bat speed. Excellent student. Named to the 2017 Southeast Uncommitted Showcase, Top Prospect List.
