Derrick Odom is a 2017 OF/ with a 6-1 225 lb. frame from Albany, GA who attends Albany High School. Medium frame, compact, physical build, athleticism, and present strength throughout. Posted a 7.17 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, developing footwork and arm strength, and a clean transfer through the ball. At the plate, started with a wide base, open stance, high hand set, high back elbow, and a toe tap timing mechanism. Showed bat speed and intent through the zone. Loads weight up on backside through the zone with hand speed. Showed gap-to-gap power with a mostly line drive plane. Synched lower half with hands and bat will lead to additional consistency.
