Cory Banda is a 2017 C with a 5-6 145 lb. frame from Taft, TX who attends Taft HS. Shorter young build, plenty of time to get bigger and stronger. Played all over the field defensively in drills but best position is catcher. Arm strength still developing but makes accurate throws, receives the ball well and has a soft glove, stood out for his hustle and overall approach to the game, showed leadership abilities at a young age. Right handed hitter, balanced set up, short line drive swing with sound mechanics, spray line drive contact, hitting base to improve with additional strength. Physical tools are young and developing but mental approach to the game is mature and strong. Good student.
