Chase Ferem is a 2018 C/3B/OF with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Kingwood, TX who attends Kingwood Park HS. Medium frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran a 7.79 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher with a low set and good hip flexion while setting up to receive. Gains some grounds while working out of crouch with smooth pace footwork. Compact, clean glove to hand exchanges while working through transition and releases from a compact arm slot. Throws generated accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 75 miles per hour. Best workout pop time of 2.00. Right handed hitter with a slightly open, spread stance and leg lift trigger. Aggressively shifts into contact with linear lower half actions. Hands slide to a slightly lower slot below shoulder before launching on a level, line drive path through extension. Swings with extreme intent to drive the baseball through the outfield gaps. Shows the present bat speed and strength to produce very loud contact. Showed best swing plane and balanced when staying in rhythm and working to the middle of the field. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Very good student as well.
