Garrett McCarthy is a 2017 OF/RHP, MIF with a 5-8 165 lb. frame from San Carlos, CA who attends Saint Francis HS. In the outfield threw 90 miles per hour with clear arm strength. Creates momentum to the bag, sets his feet with a short crow hop, throws showed carry and were online. His arm strength carried over in to the infield while also showing off quick feet, clean transfers and the ability to throw from different arm angles with confidence. At the plate he stands slightly open and shows control of his swing movements with a simple load to the rear leg, short stride forward, gets to strong launch position, barrel speed, stays in the zone and made hard contact.
