Thad Dial is a 2019 SS/RHP with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Edmonton, KY who attends Glasgow. Medium frame with a lean, athletic build. Projects for additional strength with continue maturity. Ran a 7.10 sixty yard dash. Primary shortstop, shows fundamental glove actions while funneling the baseball out front. Smooth, upright strides to each side while ranging to the baseball. Extended arm circle back at separation with smooth paced glove to hand exchanges. Releases with a loose arm action topping at 77 mph. Throws produces on line carry across the infield with some accuracy. Flashed solid athletic actions while working through slow roller. Right handed hitter with a spread, straight stance. Stacks back side at load and launches to contact with linear lower half actions. Loose, extended path to contact creating a line drive plane through extension. Flashed some strength and developing bat speed when front side trigger was on time. Primarily used the middle of the field producing line drive, ground ball contact between the outfield gaps. Also pitched working exclusively from the stretch. High leg kick to balance and gathers well. Stays tall on backside and utilizes lower half well while driving to the plate. Releases from a compact, high three-quarters arm slot that has good life through the zone. Creates good extension out front with the ability to pitch to both edges of the plate with a fastball that topped at 74 mph. Curveball has 10/5 shape with some depth and sweeping action down in the zone. Maintains arm speed on curveball offering that matches fastball. Tools will continue to develop with physical development and repetition. Outstanding student.
