Tavion Vaughns is a 2022 OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Grand Prairie, TX who attends Cedar Hill. Extra-large, athletic frame with square shoulders and present physical strength proportioned nicely throughout. Runs well, posted a 6.67 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows athleticism in actions, compact through the backside with big arm speed coming through, shows accuracy on throws to intended, some effort at release, sound defensive actions with on line carry to throws. Right-handed hitter, begins with a wide base and a high hand set and back elbow at the plate. Long swing path through the zone, will continue to refine timing moving forward, shows big bat speed through the zone and creates excellent jump off of the barrel when squared. Best contact to pull side, occasionally gets around the ball, nice tools to project upon. Good student. Verbal commitment to Oklahoma.
