Andrew Compton is a 2019 3B/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Berkeley Heights, NJ who attends Governor Livingston HS. Long athletic build with some present strength and room for plenty more, lots of physical projection. 6.91 runner, has smooth and athletic defensive actions, stays balanced well with soft hands, low effort release and can make throws on the run, solid defender. Switch hitter, has tools from both sides, shows a more fluid and leveraged swing from the left side with a pull side approach and good bat speed, busier timing intensive load from the right side but has quick hands and gets the barrel through the zone. Good all around talent who should continue to improve. Good student, verbal commitment to Georgia Tech.
