2018 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase
Jared Gadd is a 2019 MIF/RHP with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Lexington, KY who attends Paul Laurence Dunbar. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Frame projects to support additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 6.65 sixty-yard dash. Primary middle infield with polished, athletic footwork while ranging for and surrounding the baseball. Fluid glove actions while funneling and worked through exchange well. Primarily released from a three-quarters slot and generated accurate, on line carry to the bag while on the run, topped at 85 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple leg lift trigger. Worked to contact with rotational lower half actions. Swung with intent and produced loud contact with a naturally leveraged barrel plane. Ball jumped off the barrel creating easy carry to each outfield gap. Also pitched showing a side step to medium leg lift delivery. Stays balanced on back side at gather. Quick arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Produced good arm with through extension with a fastball generated heavy run back to arm side in the mid to upper 80's. topped at 88 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with tight spin and late, hard depth in the mid 70's. Also displayed good feel for a changeup offering the created fade to arm side. Consistently changed speeds and landed all three offering to the bottom of the zone. Good student. Named to the 2018 Ohio Valley Prospect Showcase, Top Prospect List.
