Daniel Perez-Battistini is a 2018 1B/RHP with a 6-0 200 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Westminster Christian HS. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and present strength throughout, strength to lower half. Ran a 7.10 6-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball out front with soft hands that pick well in dirt, works the the ball well with sound balanced actions, pivots well off the bag, quick transfer into full arm action, shows strength to throws across the diamond with carry. Also pitched, shows nice balanced to delivery, high leg lift up past belt with slight hip turn at top. Full hand path, steady tempo throughout delivery, works to a three-quarters arm action and did a nice job of filling up the strike zone with fastball, topped out at 81 mph mostly true in life. Slows arm action some on breaking ball, able to vary shape to pitch with 11-5 and 12-6 shape at time with short depth to either. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a high back elbow in the box. Upper body dominant swing with simple weight shift through lower half. Inside swing path with sound bat speed generated from physical strength. Shows a feel for the barrel and comfort working all fields, will continue to unlock additional strength with more extension to swing. Very good student.
