Logan Schwenke is a 2018 1B/OF, C with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Chandler, AZ who attends Perry. Large frame with a lean, athletic build. Wiry strength throughout, projects for additional strength. Ran a 7.85 sixty yard dash. Primary first baseman, surrounds the baseball with smooth fundamental footowrk. Clean glove actions while funneling baseball out front. Fairly clean exchanges while working through transition. Creates downhill angle while throwing across the infield with accurate on line carry, topped at 76 mph. Also worked out defensively from behind the plate. Shows a slightly higher set with a wide base. Creates some momentum while working through the baseball into throws. Releases with a compact arm action that generates uphill carry to the bag. Topped at 73 mph, best workout pop time of 2.18. Right handed hitter with a spread, straight stance. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions producing some shift. Hands are compact to contact generating and level, line drive swing plane. Primarily generates bat speed with fast twitch, top half actions. Showed good leverage through extension when stride length was shortened slightly. Tools will continue to develop with physical maturity and repetition. Grades higher as a first base prospect at this time. Very good student as well.
