Tim Yslava is a 2017 1B/RHP, OF with a 6-1 195 lb. frame from Etiwanda, CA who attends Etiwanda. Large frame with strong, athletic build; good projection remaining as well. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.68 seconds. Sets up to hit from crouched stance, hands stay close to body throughout swing and create inside-out path, shows good bat speed and strength at contact when on time. Flashed smoothness to barrel and showed ability to consistently barrel up the ball to all fields. Worked out defensively at 1st base, shows good footwork with athletic twitch, fields cleanly and pivots well with balance, made accurate throws across the diamond up to 68 MPH. Pitched as well, hooked arm stroke through the back up to high three quarters arm slot, drop and drive mechanics in lower half, fastball worked 74-77 MPH. Showed curveball with 11/5 shape, quality depth and spin, will consistently throw strikes with both pitches and pound the zone. Good student.
