Bobby Miller is a 2017 RHP/1B with a 6-5 190 lb. frame from McHenry, IL who attends Mchenry-West Campus HS. Long and lean athletic build, very projectable physically. High 3/4's arm slot with some back lean to get his arm through, arm slot not consistent yet, very fast arm coming through from a long arm action in back. Fastball topped out at 93 mph, big downhill angle to the plate, will get tons of ground balls working down in the strike zone. Shows good feel for his change up with deception and fading action, flashed some tilt on his slider but still developing feel. Fairly new to being a primary pitcher, learning to repeat his delivery will be key to his development. Left handed hitter, busy load and not always on balance and on time, has quick hands and good leverage in his swing, gets out front, swing stays pretty short for his length, uses his lower half well, has hitting potential. Showed huge arm strength at first base in drills, 6.93 runner and could undoubtedly play the outfield as well, showed his athleticism. Very interesting athlete with a high ceiling arm, could develop into an elite prospect with time and patience. Verbal commitment to Louisville.
