Riggs Poitevent is a 2017 OF with a 6-0 180 lb. frame from Alpharetta, GA who attends Johns Creek High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.35 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, moved through the ball well and fielded off to side. Was accurate with throws to the bag with developing arm strength. At the plate, started with an open stance, narrow base, high hand set, high back elbow, and used a simple stride to the ball. Barrel worked quickly through zone with a line drive swing plane. Stiffer hand load and worked up to ball with a high launch angle. Raw feel for barrel but generated lift. Developing consistency in timing would lead to improved results. Very good student.
