Samuel Hernandez is a 2021 C/1B, 3B with a 6-0 215 lb. frame from Hialeah, FL who attends Barbara Goleman. Recorded a 7.91 second 60 yard dash time. Large frame with thick and physical build. Primary catcher with side straddle setup and long arm action. He shoots up after the catch and stands tall to throw. Recorded a 1.97 second pop time at 75 mph. Can increase pop time with more direct transfer. Arm strength will continue to increase as he stays low to the ground and gains ground towards second base on the throw. Right-handed hitter that starts with a wide base and high hand and elbow set in the box. Uses a toe tap trigger and line drive path. Simple and repeatable operation with a middle to opposite field approach. Shows good carry to the opposite field and easy jump off the bat. Terrific student.
