Austin Boynton is a 2017 SS/OF with a 5-10 150 lb. frame from Herndon, VA who attends Herndon. Boynton has a medium build with room to fill out and add strength. Hits from a square stance with a lower hand set. Aggressive line drive swing plane with a short hand path to ball. Keeps hand inside baseball and hits to all fields. Showed good bat speed. Defensively, primary infielder, short arm action, good quick footwork, has sound actions to ball. Accurate throws across diamond. Has idea on INF. From the OF, ball comes out clean, fields deep and comes through well on throws. Has quick transfer and release. Good Student.
