Jake Ellowitz is a 2016 SS/ with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Atlantic Beach, NY who attends Lawrence Woodmere Academy. Medium athletic frame with slender build. Hits with high hands and back elbow, big leg lift timing mechanism, opened stance. Gets front foot down early, swing has some uppercut to it, quick bat for the most part with short path to the zone. Stays inside the ball well, shows very good overall awareness once on the base paths. In the infield, waits back well and fields cleanly, shows slinging arm action on accurate throws across the diamond to 1B, topping at 71 MPH. Ran a 7.20 60 yard dash. Very good student.
