Garrett Aylor is a 2018 LHP/ with a 6-4 235 lb. frame from Austin, TX who attends Westlake. Large frame with long limbs and present strength. Primary left handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Works to gather with a simple leg lift and stays balanced on back side. Utilizes lower half while driving to the plate and lands at a slightly open position with front side. Long, loose arm action from a three-quarters slot at release that created occasional running action and sink with a fastball offering that topped at 82 miles per hour. Tends to slow arm speed slightly with a Curveball that had 1/7 shape with softer spin and occasional big depth. Also worked out defensively from first base. Centers baseball well with clean glove actions while funneling. Smooth paced exchanges and generated accurate carry across the infield, topping at 77 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and simple front side trigger. Loose, extended path to contact and looked to turn the barrel aggressively to contact. When on time and squared, flashed some jump off the barrel with carry to the gaps. Very good student as well.
