Michael Pedota is a 2017 SS/2B, RHP with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Belle Mead, NJ who attends The Hun High School. Medium, athletic build with square shoulders and present strength throughout frame. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Primary middle infielder, shows sound and smooth actions, soft hands play out front and funnel nicely, works through the backhand well, ball comes out of hand clean and shows both strength and carry across the diamond, can throw accurately and with confidence from multiple arm slots. Up-tempo delivery on the mound, gets tall on backside with a leg lift up to belt. Short arm action through the backside and works to an extended three-quarters arm slot, shows plenty of quickness, lands slightly closed with front foot. Generates short running life to fastball and attacks hitters, topped out at 83 mph, showed a short and late tilting life up to 73 mph, made quick work of inning on mound. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a lower hand set at start and close to body. Simple shift through lower half moving into contact, line drive swing plane through the zone with a high finish at point of contact. Shows quickness to hands, generates lift out front, mechanics are easy to repeat, occasionally hits around the ball but can work the middle and pull side parts of the field. Very good student. Named to Northeast Top-Top Prospect List.
