Eddy Castellanos is a 2020 LHP/OF with a 5-8 155 lb. frame from St Petersburg, FL who attends Northeast HS. Small frame with a slender build and room to add. Ran a 7.30 second 60-yard dash. Primary lefthanded pitcher. Simple side step delivery with compact arm action. Releases from a three-quarters arm slot. Has a good knowledge on how to pitch and is efficient on the mound. Commands pitches and throws to spots. Has some running sink to the fastball in the mid 70's and topping at 76 miles per hour. Will drop in the curveball for strikes. Has tightness and has the ability to drop arm slot a bit and get sweeping action to the curveball in the low 60's as well. Also showed a good changeup with some sink and late run to it at 70 miles per hour. Worked out defensively from the outfield. Longer steps to the ball and closes with clean footwork. Fields the ball to the side with a quick funnel up. Stays mostly accurate with some good carry especially for size. Throws topped out at 78 miles per hour. Lefthanded hitter with an even stance and balance throughout. Longer bat path to the ball staying to the pull side. Rotational shift in swing.
