Duncan Lavine is a 2018 LHP/OF with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Holden, MA who attends Worcester Academy. Large frame with athletic, highly projectable build. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.12 seconds. Primary lefthanded pitcher. Long, loose arm action with extreme offline length through the back, whips through to low three quarters (near sidearm) slot release with good extension through contact. Lands online with front foot but doesn't fully rotate hips, creating slight crossfire to delivery. Generates lots of angle to the plate due to slot and extension. Fastball worked 77-83 mph with aforementioned angle and heavy arm side life, was adept at throwing the pitch to both sides of the plate as well as both up and down in the zone. Showed a shorter slider in the low-mid 70's with good sharpness, tunnels it well out of hand and does a good job getting on top of the pitch. Attacked hitters in the strike zone with two quality pitches consistently throughout his outing; striking out 7 hitters across his 4 innings. Good student; named to 2017 Northeast Top Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List.
