Matt Burger is a 2017 3B/OF, C with a 6-1 175 lb. frame from New Canaan, CT who attends New Canaan. Large frame with solid, athletic build throughout body and good remaining physical projection. Posted a 7.25 seconds 60 yard dash time. Hits from wrapped start with deep hand set, tips barrel into load, momentum hitter with smooth mechanics, shows good hand speed to and through the zone, shifts weight well into contact, finishes high with natural lift in swing, showed solid jump off the barrel with present gap power and more coming with continued strength gains. Showed quick first step to both sides defensively, sits back on the ball some, soft hands that field the ball easily and cleanly, transfers well and gets rid of the ball quickly, throwing accurately across the diamond with throws clocked as high as 76 MPH. Very good student.
