Daniel Vazquez is a 2017 SS/RHP with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Florida Christian. Medium, athletic build with projection remaining. Right handed hitter, wide base with deep hand set. Line-drive swing plane, some inconsistency in load, weight transfer, stays inside the baseball, flashes bat speed and hit balls hard in game action. Showed well in the infield, surrounds the ball well, fields out in front andh has soft hands, quick release. Also pitches, full delivery from the windup with leg lift to belt, slight pause at top of lift. Works to a 3/4 arm slot, long arm path on backside, remains balanced. Fastball up to 81 mph, has tailing life at times, also shows cut action when trying to locate to the gloveside. Mixes in sweeping slider with Frisbee-like action, adds and subtracts depth on the pitch, can be quality offering with good finish. Good student.
