Ethan Stamps is a 2020 2B/RHP/C with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Madison, GA who attends Morgan County. Strong and thick weight lifter's build, especially strong lower half. Right handed hitter, hits from an upright stance with a big leg raise gather, will get off balance at times, attacks the ball hard and has present bat speed, doesn't get cheated at the plate, power approach with the strength and bat speed to back it up. 7.50 runner, plays faster out of the box and on defense. Stays low defensively at second base, fields the ball out front with soft hands and a good funnel, plenty of arm for second base. Also catches, has good bounce behind the plate, throws from a lower slot with a quick transfer. Also pitched, rotational upper body delivery with a cross body release, will throw from every slot between 3/4's and sidearm, low effort release with a short stride out front. Mid-80's fastball, topped out at 87 mph with good running action, has touched 89 mph before at PG events, hides the ball well in his compact arm action and it gets on hitters quickly. Short little slider gets off barrels well. Versatile two-way athlete who can do lots of things well on the field. Key offensively will be getting to his power frequently enough. Good student.
