Baxter Halligan is a 2017 LHP/1B with a 6-2 185 lb. frame from Bend, OR who attends Summit HS. Large frame with solid, athletic present build and goo room to continue filling out. Primary pitcher, throws from high 3/4 slot and generates solid plane to the plate. Fastball worked 75-78 across 3 innings. Showed sharp 1/7 CB, thrown from same keyhole and release point as fastball. Did great job repeating mechanics, kept hitters off balance and missed bats. Hits with leg kick trigger, big shift into contact, will collapse backside to try and hit the ball into the air. Swing is conducive for power and more should develop with continued strength gains. Pull-field approach. Worked out defensively at 1B, showed solid 1st step range to both sides, arm worked very well on accurate throws to both 2B and 3B, velocity topped at 77 MPH. Very good student.
