Nick Callahan is a 2017 OF/1B with a 5-10 155 lb. frame from Waltham, MA who attends Tilton High School. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and a projectable build with room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.47 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder, shows nice energy to actions moving towards the ball, athleticism to actions, repeats actions, full arm stroke through the back, front side opens early prior to throws, can get on top of throws, arm strength and carry will continue to develop with better use of lower half at release. Lefthanded hitter, begins with an upright and open stance in box, shows a busy load with a high leg lift coil at start. Looseness to hands and shows a direct and shorter path to the ball, does a nice job of getting extended with line drive contact coming off the barrel. Pull side approach and occasionally gets around the ball, can work the middle of the field too and shows ability to create backspin. Good student.
