Mitchell McCallister is a 2016 OF/ with a 5-10 180 lb. frame from Kansas City, MO who attends Staley. Medium frame, solid build and a projectable body. At the plate shows an open stance with a higher hand set. Solid lower half actions that creates solid bat speed and some strength at contact. Tends to throw the bat head and attack the baseball out front while creating extension to drive the ball. Tends to reach at times, shows best contact and power combo when letting the baseball travel further into hitting zone. Stays balanced throughout swing. Worked out from the outfield as well. Showed a short overtop arm action with solid arm strength, topped at 82 mph. Smooth actions through the baseball with clean glove to hand transitions. Creates on line carry with accuracy to the bag. Very athletic actions with smooth glove skills. Ran a 6.97 sixity, and shows ability to run down balls in the gaps. Very good student as well.
