AJ Medina is a 2016 3B/MIF with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Valencia, CA who attends Valencia HS. Medium athletic build, has good present strength and the potential for more. Left handed hitter, hits from an open stance and closes on time, hand hitch load also executed on time, keeps everything simple and clean, has quick hands and a short line drive swing, squared up the ball well with some gap power, pretty polished hitter with a swing that that will translate to the next level. Has good hands and fundamentals at third base, lower arm slot but it works well for him, tends to get too straight up at times fielding the ball. Solid overall talent. Good student.
