Caleb Demers is a 2019 1B/OF with a 6-2 198 lb. frame from Evans, GA who attends Greenbrier High School. Large, athletic frame with broad shoulders and sound present strength proportioned throughout frame. Ran a 7.27 60-yard dash. Primary first baseman, fields the ball close to body, shows a full arm action coming through the backside, works behind the ball well, shows accuracy to throws and gets on top of throws, tall target to throw to, overall footwork will continue to develop. Lefthanded hitter, begins with a wide and open stance, high hand set and back elbow in the box. Shows a full path through the zone and generates sound bat speed moving into the point of contact. Loads hands back at start of swing, shows a feel for the barrel and able to incorporate physical strength well into swing with backspin and carry to the middle of the field. Has moving parts to swing but gets the barrel to ball, shows nice line drive contact off the barrel. Very good student.
