Daniel Rios is a 2017 RHP/OF, 3B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from La Puente, CA who attends West Covina. Rios has a medium sized frame with a lean athletic build. He has a high waist and his body projects. Rios pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action and good arm speed. He gets on top of his fastball well and drove it down in the zone well. Rios creates a good angle to attack hitters with. He throws a slider at 71 MPH and flashed some 11/5 tilt to it. His slider is a solid pitch and projects to get even better. Rios also throws a change up at 74 MPH with some sink to it. He threw strikes and was around the plate. The velocity and body project. Defensively he has developing actions in the outfield with arm strength up to 82 MPH. At the plate, Rios has a rotational swing with some bat speed. Named to Top Prospect Team.
