Yesiel Gonzalez is a 2021 SS/RHP with a 6-1 170 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Esc. Manuela Toro Moris. Ran a 7.64 second 60 yard dash. A primary infielder with good glove actions, showed smooth on the back hand with good arm strength showing a long arm action and high release topping out at 87 mph. On the mound he starts with a quick turn into a highleg lift, displayed a full arm action to a higher three-quarters arm slot, teh fastball has good downward plane sitting 83-85 mph, mixed in a curveball with 12-6 shape tunneling it well out of the same higher three-quarters arm slot, was able to use the fastball up to get swings and misses late in counts. At the plate, his righthanded swing starts with an even base, showed good bat speed with a compact stroke and some sneaky power routinly driving the ball deep in to all fields in batting practice and trnaslating that over to the game. Named to the 2020 Florida Prospect Showcase Top Prostect List. Very good student.
