Jaxon Byrd is a 2020 C/MIF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Christian HS. Medium and lean frame with some room to fill to the build. Ran a 7.53 second 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, shows some athleticism and flexibility behind the dish, transfers the ball from his mitt cleanly, took a solid round making all plays and repeating his mechanics, stays online to his intended target with some ground gained, releases the ball from a low 3/4 arm slot with average arm strength, 1.95 second best pop time. Secondary middle infielder, fields the baseball out in front in a clean gathering position, clean actions with a quick release when needed, looks the part in the infield as well as behind the plate. Righthanded hitter, sets u to hit with an open stance, leg kick trigger, compact swing with a consistent line drive approach mostly to the opposite field. Outstanding student.
