Hunter Atkins is a 2025 LHP/1B with a 6-1 160 lb. frame from Rockmart, GA who attends Rockmart. Recorded a 7.44 second sixty yard dash time. High-waisted frame with a long and lanky build, has plenty of room to fill. Primary left-handed pitcher with a loose and long arm action that gets offline in the back. Throws across his body from a lower three-quarters slot, has some deception/funk to the delivery. Starts closed and ends closed, creates some late action to the fastball at times. Throws a three-pitch mix, curveball has big, 1-7 shape and he tunnels the changeup well. Limited command in this look, needs to get ahead early with the fastball in order to use his off speed more. Will improve as he develops his body control and repeats the operation more effectively. Secondary first baseman with a good understanding of the footwork required, showed the ability to change arm slots. Left-handed hitter with a balanced and slightly open stance, utilizes a quick stride and swings hard/with intent. Drops his hands into the swing and shows a longer bat path, has an fields approach. Swings on a downhill plane, displayed solid hand/eye coordination and barrel control, will improve impact potential as he uses his lower half more actively. Excellent student. Named to the 2021 Main Event Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
