2016 Atlantic Coast Underclass Showcase
Zachary Lyon is a 2018 OF/3B with a 6-1 180 lb. frame from Raleigh, NC who attends Wakefield High School. Medium build and frame, athleticism, and room to continue to fill out physically and add strength. Posted a 7.32 time in the 60 yard dash. Primary outfielder, showed a varying arm action, accuracy to the bag, and developing arm strength up to 80 mph. At the plate, started with an even stance, wide base, high hand set, high back elbow, and a toe tap into stride timing mechanism. Linear swing path with rhythm in weight shift. Generates backspin off the barrel with a pull oriented approach. Will continue to improve with additional lower half in swing.
