Augie Sylk is a 2017 LHP with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Pacific Palisades, CA who attends Palisades Charter HS. Tall and slender build, long arms and legs, lots of room to fill out physically. High leg raise delivery, arm is very loose and easy from an extended 3/4's arm slot, not throwing as much cross body as when seen last summer but still inconsistent in his front side and landing location. Fastball topped out at 88 mph, gets good running and sinking life at times, hitters don't see the ball well. Short breaking slider has some tightness to it. Did not observe a change up. Pitches almost exclusively arm side and has problems getting the ball glove side with delivery. Dominates hitters when in the strike zone. Stuff will get better with physical maturity, key to development will be getting directional and consistent in his release to use the entire zone and spot his pitches. Good student.
