Damien Paz Holmes is a 2017 OF/2B with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Selma, CA who attends Hanford West. Medium, athletic frame with wiry present strength and good room to fill out with additional strength. Hits with excitable mechanics, eager to drive the ball, big weight shift forward and in towards plate with some lunge in upper body, shows mostly line drive swing plane with solid bat speed. Shows ability to hit line drives to all fields, but best contact at present is mostly to the pull field. Shows good arm action with developing arm strength at both defensive positions, arm works well and projects to add velocity to already solid 78 MPH from OF and 76 MPH from infield. Accurate throws in both. Shows deliberate but smooth actions at both spots as well. Posted a 7.15 60 yard dash time. Good student.
