Andrew Karch is a 2018 MIF/RHP/3B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Key West, FL who attends Key West HS. Small build, lean frame with plenty of room to fill throughout. Ran a 7.54 second 60 yard dash. Primary middle infielder, sits back on the baseball, good footwork throughout gather, fluid backhand, mostly clean exchange but could be quicker, average arm strength topping out at 80 mph across the diamond. Also pitched, short side step to a high leg lift, pretty fast arm, shorter arm action to a high 3/4 arm slot, good lower half usage staying tall on backside and driving off of back leg, gets out over front foot well, pounded strike zone with good command of three pitch mix, fastball is pretty straight but showed some armside life when released to the side of the baseball, changeup has good sink, sharp curveball with 12-6 shape. Switch hitter, big leg lift trigger into swing from left side, lower hand set, direct hand path to contact, line drive barrel plane, needs to get stronger for more pop off of the barrel, wider base from the right side, more downhill plane from right side, mostly opposite field contact from right with less direct hand movement at load. Good student.
