Marcos Morales is a 2019 1B/RHP with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Opa Locka, FL who attends Monsignor Edward Pace HS. Large frame with long limbs and present strength. Projects for additional strength with continued maturity. Ran a 7.97 sixty yard dash. Primary first baseman with smooth paced, deliberate footwork while centering the baseball. Fundamental glove actions while funneling the baseball out front and works through exchanges with fluidity. Released from a high three-quarters slot, topping at 75 miles per hour. Throws generated some on line carry across the infield. Right handed hitter with a spread, even stance and high back elbow set. Lower half launches to contact with rotational actions creating occasional shift. Stays behind contact well while hands launch on a simple, direct line drive plane. Repeated barrel path well with present strength at contact. When on time, baseball jump off the barrel well with good raw power potential. Also pitched showing a clean delivery with a full turn at balance point. Created good desperation while breaking hands and released from a compact three-quarters arm slot. Consistently located a fastball at the bottom of the zone that showed occasional run to arm side topping at 82 miles per hour. Also showed an 11/5 curvebball with good rotation and late, compact depth. Tools will continue to develop with maturity and repetition. Good student as well.
