Matt Benedict is a 2007 right handed pitcher and infielder from St Petersburg, Florida who attends St Petersburg High School. He has a tall athletic build that is very projectable at 6'5" 215 pounds. Matt throws with a long loose arm action and has good downhill plane. His drop and drive delivery is very easy with a very low effort. His fastball projects to be faster but right now he has good arm side run on it at 84-87 mph. He also throws a tight slider at 81 mph and a plus change up at 78 mph. He has a very good mound presence and a solid feel for all of his pitches. Benedict has good power potential at the plate. He keeps it simple and turns on the ball very easily. Matt has a very upside on the mound and is also a good student.
