Brandon Ethington is a 2019 1B/3B/OF with a 6-4 205 lb. frame from Shelbyville, KY who attends Martha Layne Collins HS. XL frame with very good present strength throughout. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.46 seconds. Sets up to hit from open-based stance with high hand set, leans forward a bit pre-load, drops hands into load but creates separation, shifts well in lower half and really drives through contact. Smoothness to barrel, middle-field approach with line drive swing plane, has looseness to stroke, showed good ability to hit rising liners up the middle and to the pull field. Worked out at 1st base, flashes solid footwork both on and off the bag, fields cleanly with deeper funnel, long over the top arm stroke with exaggerated wind up, throws across the diamond clocked up to 66 mph. Good student.
