Richard Brinson is a 2020 OF/LHP with a 6-0 170 lb. frame from Mobile, AL who attends Ums-Wright Prep. Slender athletic build with lots of room to fill out and get stronger. 6.68 runner, attacks the ball well in the outfield and works low through it, has a quick transfer and release with a quick arm stroke with some arm strength. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with minimal lower half use and shift, rotational upper body swing, high contact approach that looks designed for his his speed, has enough bat speed that one can project plenty more as he gets stronger with some lower half involvement in his swing. Also pitched, high 3/4's arm slot, big stride out front, good pace to his delivery, uses his front side well. Fastball topped out at 82 mph with some arm side running action. Very good curveball with some power and big depth at times. Commands the zone well with both pitches and repeats his delivery well. Has some potential on the mound. Very good student.
