Tristan Latham is a 2019 C/1B with a 6-1 215 lb. frame from North Andover, MA who attends Phillips Academy. Large, athletic frame with quick broad shoulders and present strength proportioned well throughout frame. Ran a 5.44 40-yard dash. Primary catcher, gains ground with lower half coming out of crouch, will continue to refine overall footwork, quick transfer and release with a tight, over-the-top release, shows nice arm strength and carry on throws down to second base, gets on top well and accurate to second base. Fields the ball out front at first base, some bend at waist, similar high release slot on throws, moves well off the bag. Righthanded hitter, begins with a wide base and a low back elbow with bat on shoulder. Hands begin pulled back, stays short and simple to the ball and through the zone while showing an easy stroke. Full finish through the ball and incorporates strength well, good angle and shows ability to create rising line drive contact with back spin and hard jump off the barrel when squared. Named to Northeast Indoor Top Prospect List. Very good student.
