Vladimir Ceverino is a 2018 RHP/OF with a 6-3 180 lb. frame from Brooklyn, NY who attends Franklin K Lane HS. Large, athletic build with square shoulders and present strength proportioned evenly throughout frame, still projects with additional room to fill. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Primary righthanded pitcher, shows balanced mechanics with a leg lift up equal to belt, gets tall on backside and gathers well over rubber, can continue to incorporate additional lower half into drive to plate. Short and compact arm action in the back, hides the ball well while working to a three-quarters arm slot. Quick arm, produced a fastball that topped 85 mph, nice running life to it out of the stretch and can harness it too. Creates occasional angle, nice fading life to changeup at 73 mph, flashed an 11-5 shaped breaking ball at 66 mph, ends to slow arm action at release. Big arm strength from the outfield, fields the ball out front, similar short and quick arm action, comes out of the hand well and gets on top of the ball, nice carry and stays on line with lower half. Righthanded hitter, begins with an upright and even stance, high back elbow in the box. Leg lift trigger, mostly upper body dominant swing, full path and repeats it well, shows some fluidity and feel for the barrel, strength off the barrel when on time. Named to Main Event Top Prospect List. Very good student.
