Max McCammon is a 2023 C/RHP/3B with a 5-4 140 lb. frame from Bloomington, IN who attends Bloomington South. Young, square shouldered build with some present strength to frame and additional room to fill and develop physically moving forward. Ran a 9.16 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, begins with a lower set behind the plate, gets tall out of crouch, can continue to implement and refine footwork moving through the release, stays short and compact with arm action, occasionally gets uphill at release on throws, arm strength on throws will develop. Also pitched, quick delivery with a leg lift up to belt; full arm action working to an extended three-quarters release point with a short stride down the mound. Fastball topped out at 70 mph and mixed in a curveball with 11-5 shape at 60 mph. Righthanded hitter, begins with a narrow and open stance with a high hand set and back elbow at the plate; utilizes a leg lift trigger for timing at the plate. Lets the ball travel and keeps hands inside the baseball, best when working on a linear plane. Comfort working to the opposite field but can go to all fields, can continue to get the barrel out front with extension.
